Today we decided to stop by the International Conference Center that is close to our house. They advertised a electronics fair, and like every guy I like electronics. Well we got there and were very disappointed. It was a fair for companies that produce electronic stuff. Oh well!

It has been about a week since we have been in Xi'an, and it is nice to be back. We are in the final stretch as far as our time in Xi'an is concerned, and we are ready to move on. More later.....

The sun in Xi'an

This is a picture from our apartment window. It is not often we can see the mountains because of the smog, and we wanted to share it with you!

Fun with Wang Dong

Tonight we got to spend time with my friend Wang Dong. I met him over 7 years ago in Yan'an, and he now lives and works in Langzhou. He ate his very first sloppy joe and we caught up on old times. It was a good evening!

Its so funny for us to see the articles and posts from people who come to a big city in China and talk about how there are no small side street markets left and things like that.  While they are on the decline, in Xi'an there are a lot of them. This is a short clip from Wa Hu Tong, a small village that is home to over 10,000 people.  This was taken in the middle of the afternoon so most of the people are at work or school. But by 5 pm, this street is so crowded you cant hardly walk down it!

After having dinner with Li Ling on Saturday night, we decided that we needed to have a try at Chinese cooking ourselves. There is Renee working on the two dishes we prepared. While not quite as good as Li Lings, she did an amazing job. And though you can not see it, I did an amazing job setting the table, washing the dishes, and taking the pictures!

Dinner with Li Ling

Last night we went to our friend Li Lings house for dinner. She taught us how to make 3 amazing vegetarian dishes, that can be easily adapted for meat if you want!
I also helped her open her own blogpsot....she was so happy about that. Next week we plan to teach her how to make some cookies and cinnamon rolls. It is so cool how simple things like cookies can be a relationship builder!
