We just got back from Bonanza and Klamath Falls. It was a great trip, but we are tired. One thing I did learn though, is the snow is really pretty when the roads are clear and you dont have to drive in it!

Real Life...

After today, we can get back to our normal life. My parents are in Cambodia on a trip with their church, and they decide to spend some time in Vietnam on the way home, so for the past two weeks we have been taking care of my sister and my families Korean exchange student. Its been hard, but fun.

Tomorrow real life hits again as we have to drive down past Klamath Falls for our service on Sunday! I dont like the driving part, but when we actually arrive I do enjoy myself. But this is the life we have chosen to live and we are so honored that we get to live it!

Oh yes, we also found out that we return to China, another family will be joining us in our city. Thats exciting to us, as we will be one of the only foreigners in our amazing city! In fact, the pictures posted here our of our amazing city!

Today, well yesterday, we decided we needed a new mattress. We tried sleeping on a full size bed, but we cant do it! So we had to return our old bed to my parents house. So we did the unthinkable, we tied the box springs to the roof.... I cant believe we actually did that, but we did. Rather embarrassing...

To my wife...

Thank you for an amazing 2 years. You are everything I need, you are more than I ever imagined a spouse would be. You are my best friend, my partner, and fellow " big hairy audacious dreamer" I do not know what I ever did without you. I love you STR.

Waiting is hard. Neither Renee or I are good at it, in fact we are really bad at it. Yet, interestingly enough, our life consists solely of waiting.
Waiting for a community leader to respond to our repeated phone calls, waiting for a new pledge form to be filled out, waiting for the home study to go through. You would think we would be good at it by now!

Yet looking back at my life everything good came by waiting. I waited 28 years for my wife, I waited 17 to  live and work overseas, and the list goes on.  So why is it so hard? Thats the question of the day....

I know every time I post a new blog, I promise to do better in keeping up with it, and I never do. So I have decided to make this more of a "hodepodge" blog. Rather than just focus on China and all that stuff, to include more of our everyday life and thoughts.

Those of you who live in Oregon will recognize these places, Seaside, Astoria, and Gold Beach. This past few weeks, we have been on the road a lot, specifically Highway 101! I love the beach, and was so excited to spend so much time there. This was Renee's first real experience with the Oregon coast, and though a lot colder than Texas', she agreed it is much prettier!
