Fishing and Good-Byes

Last week we took the boys fishing, and I just realized that I had never posted those pictures. While we had fun, it was very clear that Renee and I did NOT know what we are doing. Luckily, my Dad does, and he is taking the boys this week; so they will actually have a decent chance of catching a fish before we go!

Speaking of I sit in our almost empty apartment, I feel that I should post an ode " To Our Apartment" It will not rhyme, and probably not make sense, but thats the cool things about art. Its all in the eye of the beholder!
"To Our Apartment"
We first entered your doors, looking forward to the year or so ahead of us. We had grand visions of raising our support in a timely fashion, and having TV that we could watch in English. We eagerly child-proofed you, even though we would not become parents for almost a year. We marveled at your big oven, and drinkable water-from the faucet!
We missed you when we were on the road, and felt confined within your walls, when saving for our adoption left us with no extra money, and we were forced to stay home. We shared your frustration with the neighbors who filled you with a horrible smelling smoke-even worse than the cheap Chinese cigarette smell-and grieved when your carpet got all dirty, and we were forced to get you all wet.
Within your walls we shared a lot of firsts; first home as a married couple in the US, first day as parents, first time packing up everything we own and giving away the rest. No matter how we feel today, we will look back at our time with you and realize just how muchwe changed; while we resided within your walls.

In all seriousness, its a very bittersweet feeling. We are so ready to go back home, and begin our lives there again. Yet, this time its harder. We are taking the boys to another new culture, and life. They are excited, and we have prepared them as best we can. All that we can do now, is trust the Great Designer. He is the giver of all good things, and the one who it see it through. I will post again before we leave, but if not catch you on the other side.

11 months ago today, our life changed forever. I wanted to post this on the one year anniversary of our referral, but we will have just arrived in China, and have no idea if I will have a chance to post this. So I am doing it a month early, but thats okay!
We looked at these pictures, and we immediately fell in love with two special boys. We knew our life was going to change, but we had no idea just how much! Tegan and Preston, this past 11 months have been an amazing ride; we are so proud of you and love you so much! Thank you for the honor of being your Mommy and Daddy
You can look back at our post about the referral

This Weekend

It was so nice to have Grandpy Ransom come visit this week. He lives back East, and visiting him was the highlight of my young life. I have so many memories from Amish Country, Ceaderville, NJ, Philadelphia, and Ocean City; and am so excited that he got to met and spend time with the boys. True, he also met another Great Gand Child, but I like to think he came to meet them! Renee's Mom flies in on Wednesday, so they will get a double dose of Grandparent love!

Also, just some random thoughts from the past few days:
-Saying you "forgot" does not mean you will not get in trouble
-A nap is a NECESSITY for the kids sanity, as well as Mom and Dad's
-The 20 pounds you put on stress eating over the past year and a half, does not go away as fast as it came
-Family can drive you nuts-not talking about the kids here
-Kids blubbering so hard they cant talk is actually really cute
-Crocodile tears can make Mom and Dad feel bad...change your punishment, no..feel bad. yes
-Why cant we give the mouse a bath
-" I wake you up at 5:00 am so that when I flush the toilet it wont wake you up"
