Making A Difference....

Today I had my students do a short presentation on "whatever they wanted." I promise, it did fit with the class lesson for the day! One group got right to work, and was giggling and laughing the whole time, and when they did their presentation, I understood why!

Sometimes I wonder if I am making a difference in the lives of my students. I can see the results from our relationships in the deaf schools, and the people in our neighborhood. When we get recognized on the other side of town, we know our reputation proceeds us. But in the lives of the students....thats much harder to judge.
To be honest, teaching is not my first choice. Its a visa for us, a chance to live and work here. Or so I thought. But lately, I have been realizing that being at the school is an opportunity in itself. One I need to take seriously, to realize that even when it does not seem like it...I am making a diffrence!
