The SimpleThings

This post will be all about our oldest son Tegan. We have done many posts about our daughter, so its okay.
We have done so well with the kids adapting in both adoptions, that sometimes I forget he still has thoughts and memories of his previous life.
We are at my parents house for most of the summer, and the kids have fun exploring the cool things they find at Grandmas house. Today he found a CD player/radio/ tape player. The kind that was popular a few years ago. He told me he knew what it was, because some people in Wyolata (their hometown) had some. He said they used to carry them on their shoulder, but the only the rich people had one. He said this with a hint of sadness. I told him we can buy one for your room, and he got so excited. He said, "we must be rich"
I explained no, they are not expensive.
It was still a shock after all this time that he remembers the feeling of being poor and not having anything. While we are a long way from rich, their needs and m
any wants are met. They have amazing experiences, and have an incredible life. But it is the simple things, like not being able to afford a radio that he remembers most.

The Rest of Us...

We know Alyia is doing great..how about the rest of us?

Honestly, I am having a harder time than I did with the boys. A baby is so much more work, and while I grew up with a large family I was not fully prepared for how much our life would change. I love my little girl, and want her more than anything. I will be fine, its just taking a little longer to adjust this time..

Renee has been amazing. She has taking to "Mommying" a baby incredibly well. She was born for this, and seems to have an instinct about what her daughter needs. She has adjusted quickly, and is on her to Mommy of the year status....
Tegan has adjusted well also. We were afraid that there would be jealousy issues, but so far that has not happened. Maybe when we get back to China...Alyia has really taken to  Tegan, and you can tell they already have a special bond.
Preston is sooo excited not to be the baby anymore, that sometimes he overwhelms her. He tries hard, and will be an amazing brother as he learns what she needs, and how to fulfill that need. But for now, he loves his sister and does everything he can with her.

We have had Alyia for a little over 2 weeks, and the change in her has been amazing! From our first family picture where she was scared and screaming to now....the transformation has been amazing!

She went from barely walking to running on the beach.

She can say "up"- "bye-bye"- "all done" "more" -"Daddy" -"Mommy"
She has learned how to blow kisses, and give kisses on command....
She loves exploring and trying new things...
She still has a hard time at night, she is to scared to sleep on her own, but thats ok. She has a temper, but is learning that Mommy and Daddy don't respond to that...
All in all, she is doing amazing. We love her dearly, and she is such a perfect fit for our family

 She LOVES water....
Will go to sleep in her stroller, a car, and airplanes almost immediately

 She is adorable..
 She is adventurous...
 She is OURS...
