Back Home, New Adjustment For Alyia

I promise the next post will be about China. Alyia has been with us for 2 months, and she has only been in her home for 2 days. She has shown the amazing ability to adapt in any situation. She is doing amazing in China, and somehow seems to know this is her home. These are a few pictures as she navigates her new room, house and dog!

First picture in China!

I have been thinking about what kind of blog post I can do. I have done the picture thing, and the short one line updates. I wish I was one of those people who always knew what to blog about, but I am not.

We are nearing the end of our summer in America, and are ready for the life and routine of home.  was going to talk about that, but then something happened today.

This summer, another foreign family in Changsha has been going through some of the same things we have. Dealing with the court systems, and getting paperwork pushed through. They were concerned that everything would not be done in time, but it was. She made a comment that made me think. She said, "This summer has taught me how little my faith is."

Then this morning, we sang the song "How Great Is Our God" and I was struck by how GREAT HE IS!

We have been in America 41 days, and we have:
1. A letter from the Oregon DHS (supposed to have taken 4-6 weeks)
2. A final and amended adoption decree (some states takes 6 months)
3. A US passport
4. A US birth certificate (4-6 weeks normally)
5. A Chinese tourist visa, good for 15 months with a trip out every 90 days (told that was impossible)
6. A Social Security Card
7. Authenticated Documents.

I don't mean to brag, but the point that I am making is that even when our faith is small, He is still a miracle working God. He does not operate based on the measure of our faith, but in His goodness and grace.

Re Connected

We just got back from Texas, and once again have steady internet. My In-laws live out in the country, so staying connected can be a struggle. I promise, a new post is coming soon!
